Welcome to the Emailogic blog
At Emailogic we believe everyone should be a brilliant email user. Training in email etiquette creates huge productivity gains that mean staff have more time, reduce email traffic and communicate more effectively. And it is not difficult to achieve - as hundreds of thousands of Emailogic graduates have proven.
Having worked in IT support for many years I know that an email users default position when the network or their computer runs slow is: “its IT’s fault”.
Sometimes this is the case – however poor performance is often the fault of the user behaviour rather than the network or the kit.
Maybe IT need to provide more education to users before they start banging on the door of IT support.
A case in point: recently Emailogic helped a frustrated IT Director re-educate his staff.
They were blaming IT for poor performance whilst they were:
– Storing in excess of 6000 emails (3GB) in their inbox
– Keeping huge agendas in calendars going back years
– Sharing up to 30 colleagues calendars
– Trying to send huge files to clients
In the words of the IT Director “I could throw one million pounds, euros or dollars at this system but performance will still be poor unless they change the way they manage their email”.
Once staff understand clearly the system restrictions and how to work effectively for their own benefit AND that of the organisation – they do change their email behaviour.
Email etiquette is not just about writing good messages and managing personal email – but appreciating the impact you can so easily have on the organisation as a whole.
